Od prvn\u00edho momentu byla v\u00edce ne\u017e jen m\u00fazou, kter\u00e1 tvo\u0159ila st\u0159edobod v\u00edce ne\u017e t\u0159etiny jeho d\u011bl. V&nbsp;roce 1912 se Pierre a Martha usadili v&nbsp;dom\u011b v&nbsp;Normandii, kde byl jejich sousedem slavn\u00fd impresionistick\u00fd mal\u00ed\u0159 Claude Monet. Okoln\u00ed p\u016fvabn\u00e1 krajina a jej\u00ed atmosf\u00e9ra Bonnarda inspirovaly k&nbsp;namalov\u00e1n\u00ed jeho nejlep\u0161\u00edch obraz\u016f v\u010detn\u011b mnoha akt\u016f s Marthou. Jeho vrcholn\u00e1 pl\u00e1tna mu vynesla ozna\u010den\u00ed \u201emal\u00ed\u0159 \u0161t\u011bst\u00ed\u201c, \u201emistr intimismu\u201c \u010di \u201eposledn\u00ed z impresionist\u016f\u201c. C\u00edtila pot\u0159ebu sv\u011btu p\u0159ipomenout Bonnardovo d\u00edlo, kter\u00e9 je z&nbsp;jej\u00edho pohledu nedocen\u011bn\u00e9, a tak m\u011b po\u017e\u00e1dala, abych o n\u011bm a jeho \u017een\u011b nato\u010dil film. Bylo to pro m\u011b jako znamen\u00ed. Od d\u011btstv\u00ed jsem m\u011bl toti\u017e Bonnardovu malbu Marthy vyv\u011b\u0161enou nad postel\u00ed. Kdy\u017e jsem pot\u00e9 za\u010dal pracovat na sc\u00e9n\u00e1\u0159i, uv\u011bdomil jsem si, jak siln\u00fd p\u0159\u00edb\u011bh se za jejich utajovan\u00fdm vztahem
